Pam Wilkerson - Biography

About the Artist

Artist Pam Wilkerson

Pam Wilkerson grew up in an Air Force family, living around the world and developing an early appreciation for the beauty, culture, and stories found in different places.  She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Fashion Design from the University of North Texas and went on to build a career designing dresses.  After stepping away from her career to raise her children, Pam discovered a new creative calling through painting.

Her journey as an artist began with painting wall size murals created for children's activities at her church. What started a way to bring color and imagination to expansive walls, soon grew into a passion for painting on canvas.  Pam embraced oil painting and developed her own impressionistic style, drawn to the challenge of capturing not only what a scene looks like, but also how it feels.

Pam's paintings celebrate light, shadow, color, movement, and fleeting moments in time. Working with expressive brushwork, soft edges, and a luminous palette, she strives to create a sense of movement, atmosphere, and emotion that invites the viewer into the scene.

Her subjects are inspired by the experiences and places that have shaped her life- from travel and evocative street scenes to the landscapes and everyday moments of life in Texas, beloved four-legged companions, and the tender, spontaneous world of children.  Each painting is an opportunity to capture a moment in time and preserve the emotion within it.

Pam's work is held in private collections across the country.  She also accepts a limited number of commissions, creating personal works that bring her impressionistic vision and love of storytelling to meaningful subjects.
